- Plainview School Board contemplates a four day school week. Advantage savings would be utility and transportation costs.
40 Years Ago - April 6, 1984
- Introduction to computers is one of several educational classes offered at Eads High School through Lamar Community College.
- Plainview High School placed first out of 12 teams that participated in the Scholastic Bowl held at the school. Three schools were unable to attend because of weather.
50 Years Ago - April 5, 1974
- The Homemaking students of Eads High School will be selling yellow Smiley lemon candles. The proceeds will be donated to research and rehabilitation of Muscular Dystrophy.
- Brandon Briefs- Mrs. Oren White: It hailed fast and furious in Brandon as well as in Sheridan Lake. Six-tenths of an inch of moisture recorded in town.

- Lake Center: There’s big smoke at the oil well every day. Looks like something doing.
- Brandon: Bert Jeffries, janitor of the school, may have equals but no superiors in his line. He has kept the building, machinery, and heat in perfect condition all year.
