- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: The turkeys are kind of taking over here in town and Marty’ ranch. I just saw 35-40 down below Jim Lafferty’s.

- Colorado Kansas & Pacific Railroad will begin running trains on the rail line between Towner and North Avondale Junction next week.
- Brenda Fickenscher of Sheridan Lake was named Southeast Colorado Cattle Woman of the Year 2000.
40 Years Ago - April 5, 1985
- Omnibank named V. Kern Vincent as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the bank effective April 1, 1985.
50 Years Ago - April 4, 1975
- In Commemorating the Colorado Centennial in ‘76’, Kiowa County Commissioners Merle Shalberg, Roy Robertson, and Clyde Frazee received Centennial tie tacks from the Centennial Committee.
- A project for a year-round community center at Eads, to be built at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds, was recently approved by the Colorado Centennial-Bicentennial Commission.
75 Years Ago - April 7, 1950
- Out of 550 registered voters in town of Eads, 514 showed at the poles to cast their vote. In Haswell, some 80 voters went to the poles.
100 Years Ago - 1925
- Doings at Sunday’s Garage: We offer a cash prize of $5 to any party to make the most miles out of a gallon of Blue Ribbon gasoline.
- We had a Lincoln demonstration Thursday. C.A. Smith enjoyed the ride in the new Lincoln.
