- The Kiowa County Ambulance Service is searching for dedicated volunteers to help with the Ambulance Service.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: I missed the card party New Year’s Eve. It was too cold. Felt better to put another log on the fire.

- Michael Zimmerman, Eads High School senior, was named to compete in the National Principal’s Leadership Award scholarship program.
40 Years Ago - January 3, 1986
- Kim Randle, Plainview High School senior, was selected to play on the Senior All-State Volleyball Team.
- Vandals struck Eads in the early morning hours Christmas Eve and did considerable damage to both public and private property
50 Years Ago - January 2, 1976
- Nee Noshe boat ramp excavation is almost completed. The Monk Construction Company awaits only good weather to begin the concrete boat ramp and channel.
- The winner of $5 in the Chamber of Commerce drawing, Lee Sheridan, was so Christmas spirited he considered sitting on Santa’s lap.
- Eads Consumer Supply is $50,000 short for a Certificate of Indebtedness needed to purchase the Haswell Elevators.
75 Years Ago - January 5, 1951
- The 1st National Bank in Eads, which has been operating out of the Bransgrove building for several months, was moved to its new home and opened for business.
