  • Over the next 10 to 12 months, Kiowa County and KCEDF have committed to the creation of a countywide long range comprehensive plan.

  • In a special meeting, the Eads City Council voted to enforce the Colorado statutes regarding unlicensed/underage drivers and unlicensed motorized vehicles in the city limits.

50 Years Ago - September 10, 1976

  • It was announced the statewide Sheriff’s Posse Gymkhana & Convention is to be held in Eads in 1977.

75 Years Ago - September 14, 1951

  • Eads will be visited by the Crusade for Freedom Motorcade. The purpose of the motorcade is to demonstrate the methods being used to reach countries under communistic domination.

100 Years Ago - September 10, 1926

  • Uncle Cy and his pet pig Sunshine will amuse the crowd at the Kiowa County Free Fair.
  • Fine Flat: School started August 30 with 32 pupils present from first to eighth grade. Mrs. Leon Smith is the teacher.
  • Chivington News: School opened August 30 with 86 enrolled with 6 teachers including 2 High School teachers
