  • Eads defeated Granada, 8-5, for the Eagles first ever baseball crown.  Eads became the first school in Colorado history to win the A1 crown as CHSAA installed A1 baseball just this year.
  • USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Mike & Debbie Reystead and their family received the Conservationist of the Year at the Kiowa County Conservation District annual meeting.

  • Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: I remember when I lived in Divide in the ‘30s, some of us guys hitch hiked down to the Springs in one of the ore cars on the train. We laid down & put our face over the holes in the floor so we could breathe as the smoke was so bad going through the tunnels. The things we used to do probably wasn’t to smart, but we survived.

  • Nursing Home News- LaVerne Fischer: A busy day for staff and exciting one for the residents as we held our first annual bake-off.

  • The Kiowa County Historical Society reorganized. Commissioner P.L. Reed and Claude McFarlane were on hand to present the old Eads Bank building as a museum and pledged the support of the county to the success of the project.

  • Eads people were greatly shocked last week when a lady was seen on the streets with the bottom of her shirts almost down to her shoe tops.
  • Why pay $7 per week for a meal ticket when you can get 21 meals for $6 at Hines Café?
