Recently, the City of Lamar has received calls of concern for the overflowing recycle containers at different locations in town. 

Our Public Works office has been working with our paper, cardboard, glass and metal recycling contractor, Southeast/East Central Recycling, to resolve this issue. 

Unfortunately, their trucks are currently out of service, which has stopped their scheduled routes to empty Lamar’s containers. 

Please do not leave materials outside the containers. If you have the ability to hold those materials until recycling routes can be resumed, please do so.
