The Rocky Ford Police Department and Colorado Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate a missing persons case from nearly 35 years ago after new information came to light.

November 1, 1982, Victoria Lenore Sanchez and Yvonne Marie Mestas, both 15 at the time, left Rocky Ford High School during the afternoon and disappeared.

New information, which has not been disclosed, led RFPD and CBI to continue the investigation to determine what happened the day the girls went missing.

“Although decades have passed, we are actively working with our partners at the Rocky Ford Police Department on this long-term missing persons’ case to help determine what happened to Victoria and Yvonne,” said CBI Pueblo Agent Kevin Koback.

Investigators are asking anyone with details about the missing girls to call CBI’s Pueblo office at 719-647-5999.
