The 2nd annual Rum Fest in in Longmont, Colorado, is coming to an exciting close this week.

Rum Fest has been going on all throughout February with entertaining events revolving around, you guessed it, rum. From parties to educational workshops, the event has provided Longmont citizens with the perfect way to warm up during the chilly Colorado winter.

The month-long celebration has taken place at Longtucky Spirits, a micro-distillery in Downtown Longmont known for its locally sourced ingredients, delicious spirits, live music performances, and educational tours.

To kick off the festivities, Longtucky hosted a LongTIKI Party on February 1. The festivities included live music performed by Uke Dave, a new menu release, and a hula competition.

Throughout the month, the fun continued with couples’ cocktail classes, bitters workshops, and dance classes. If you haven’t been participating in Rum Fest so far, don’t worry—there’s still time to get in on the festivities.

Remaining events include Island Karaoke starting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and the Tiniest Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday to close out the month.

The big finale will be hosted by St. Vrain Cidery and is a collaborative party including all the businesses at 350 Terry Street, such as CoSolve, Family Village, Mojo’s Music Academy, and more. The parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. and festivities will continue until the distillery closes at 11:00 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to join in the celebration by decorating their bike, wagon, or themselves. The small parade will celebrate Mardi Gras and Carnival as participants circle the block in their festive attire. There will also be a competition to see who can create the best Mardi Gras-themed float.

More information regarding the event’s activities can be found on the Longtucky Spirits website. You can also follow the distillery’s Facebook page to get updates on any upcoming events.
