Sunny, dry weather is on tap for Eads and the rest of Kiowa County through the weekend, with temperatures climbing from the mid-60s Friday to the lower 80s by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Friday brings sunshine and a high near 66 degrees. Winds start out light from the south-southeast, then increase to 10 to 15 mph during the morning. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 43 and south winds of 5 to 15 mph.

Stephen Hodanish, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pueblo, wrote in Friday’s Area Forecast Discussion that the storm that brought “much needed rain” to the region has moved well east of the forecast area. He described a “quiet, dry pattern” for the next seven-plus days and wrote that, with weak flow aloft and the recent precipitation, “no fire weather concerns are anticipated.”

No fire weather headlines as dry pattern settles in

No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Kiowa County in Friday’s forecast. A Frost Advisory that ran until 8 a.m. Friday covered other zones in the Pueblo forecast area, not the Eads area.

Forecasters said one weak disturbance will pass late Saturday, trimming temperatures a few degrees but bringing little precipitation. The next chance of widespread precipitation appears to come after next weekend, according to the Pueblo discussion.
