Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office deputies made a traffic stop this week which ended in the arrest of two people and seizing drugs.

The stop occurred Thursday north of Eads. During the stop, deputies learned about outstanding warrants from a neighboring jurisdiction for a man and woman in the vehicle. The pair were placed under arrest.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found what was described as a “large amount” of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid drug. Distribution equipment, a large amount of cash, and a handgun were also found.

The case remains under investigation.
