Non Insured Assistance Program (NAP) letter sent out
The office sent out a copy of the 2025 CCC-471, application for coverage for producers who are considered beginning farmers, limited resource or socially disadvantaged for their records. Producers need to review the information enclosed in the envelope, however no action is required.
The letter states the following and if any producer has questions regarding NAP eligibility please contact the office.
This office has completed a CCC-471, ‘Application for Coverage’ for crop year 2025 on the crops that were eligible for NAP coverage based on the acreage report filed for 2024. These crops are listed on the enclosed 2025 CCC-471, NAP Application for Coverage. This form is for your records, do not return to the office.
As a NAP producer you need to be informed of the following:
BASIC PROVISIONS – A copy of the NAP basic provisions is also enclosed. It is your responsibility as a NAP producer to be aware of your responsibilities
BUY-UP COVERAGE - The CCC-860 NAP coverage is basic coverage only which is 50 percent production and 55 percent price coverage. Through the application closing date for a crop, you may elect NAP buy-up coverage ranging from 50 to 65 percent of production, in 5 percent increments, and for 100 percent of the average market price. Crops intended for grazing are not eligible for NAP buy-up coverage.
NOTE: Buy-up coverage can only be extended to producers who can meet the growing history requirements. You must be able to prove to the County Committee that you have successfully grown the crop a minimum of one-year before buy-up coverage can be extended
