Winner of Demitasse Exercise Pass Announced (video)
To welcome new business Demitasse to Eads, KiowaCountyPress.net and Plains Networks Services sponsored a free pass to Demitasse’s fully-equipped exercise room for a lucky winner.
In a drawing held September 2, Charlotte Gunning of Eads was awarded the one-month pass. Demitasse co-owner Cathy Davis drew Gunning’s name as the lucky winner.
Co-owner Chelsea Davis spoke to the Kiowa County Press about starting her dream business, which launched in August.
Chelsea had been an educator and coach in Oklahoma before moving to Kiowa County. She saw the need for a fitness center, and an opportunity to combine it with her love of coffee and curios to develop a business. He mother-in-law, Cathy Davis, thought the idea sounded fun as well, so they teamed up to build Demitasse, located at 1213 Maine Street in Eads.
A wide array of activities are already underway, including beverage tastings and yoga in the park. In the fall, the Davis’ will be adding soups and sandwiches to their beverage selections, providing more meal options to attract people to the Maine Street business district.
At the start of September, 48 fitness memberships had been purchased, with more expected over the coming months.
Demitasse has a 24-hour fitness center, accessible to members via electronic key cards. The coffee and snack section is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m.
