Ag stats: June 2022 Kansas crop production highlights
Based on July 1 conditions, Kansas's winter wheat production is forecast at 267 million bushels, down 27% from last year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Average yield is forecast at 39 bushels per acre, down 13 bushels from 2021. Area to be harvested for grain is estimated at 6.85 million acres, down 2% from a year ago.
Oat production is forecast at 945,000 bushels, down 6% from last year. Average yield is forecast at 45 bushels per acre, down 5 bushels from 2021. Area to be harvested for grain is estimated at 21,000 acres, up 5% from a year ago.
