Topsoil moisture supplies rated 15% very short, 30% short, 53% adequate, and 2% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 15% very short, 32% short, 51% adequate, and 2% surplus.
Field Crops Report: Winter wheat planted was 4%, near 2% last year, and equal to the five-year average.
Corn condition rated 9% very poor, 13% poor, 25% fair, 44% good, and 9% excellent. Corn dented was 89%, near 90% last year and 88% average. Mature was 45%, near 46% last year and 47% average. Harvested was 11%, near 7% last year and 10% average.
Soybean condition rated 6% very poor, 8% poor, 27% fair, 52% good, and 7% excellent. Soybeans setting pods was 92%, near 96% last year and 95% average. Dropping leaves was 20%, behind 30% last year, and equal to average.
