All Things Plainview… - February 25, 2024
This past week the elementary students experienced Kiwi Crates. The lower grades (K-2, 3-5) did Paleontologist Starter Kit, and grades 6-8 did the Remote-Control Snake Robot. From the looks of things, the kids had a great time.
The elementary students also celebrated Valentine’s Day with a party and art projects.
The high school indoor track team competed in their last meet on the campus of Western State University in Gunnison. The team is composed of Elijah Harkness, Destiny and Hailey Cornelius, and Connor Lynch (of Eads). They are coached by Jennifer Wilson.
Ky Harkness, who is #24/32 on the Holly Wildcats basketball team, began tournament action this week Monday night against Hoehne.
The freshman and sophomore classes had a dinner and a movie night February 23.
It has come to our attention that our beloved Hawk mascot has gone unnamed since the opening of Plainview School in 1963 (as far as we know). We would like to change that and invite you and your students to submit name ideas for our dear Hawk! Name entries will be collected until March 7, 2024. Mid to end March, Erin Schneider will send out a survey to see which name gets the most votes. In the event of a tie, Plainview administration can pick the winner. The Hawk’s name will be announced sometime in April. Please submit any name ideas to erin.schneider@plainviewhawks.org.
