March 22, the elementary student had fun with ancient civilizations (Japan and Brazil) and STEM challenges. They made Japanese carp kites and monkeys from Brazil. They also made a foosball table.

March 20, Plainview’s senior (Elijah Harkness) began his senior trip, which lasted five days. He was able to do something he has always wanted to do: attend March Madness.  His brother Ky and his father Sean accompanied him to Salt Lake City, where they were able to watch several NCAA teams compete at the Delta Center. In addition to watching basketball, they enjoyed axe throwing, bowling, golf, attending a comedy club, and snowboarding at Brighton Ski Resort. I am sure this is an experience they will always remember.

Elijah: “I really enjoyed this experience, I will never forget it.”

Ky: “I was happy to share this experience with my brother and my father.”

Last Saturday, the high school track team competed in the Lamar Track Meet, where Destiny Cornelius placed first in the high jump (4’5”) Hailey Cornelius also competed in the long jump. Missing from the meet were Ky and Elijah Harkness, who were on a senior trip in Utah. The Hawks are coached by Jennifer Wilson.

The Name the Hawk Contest will end the last day of March. If you want to vote, contact Erin Schneider. The name will be announced sometime in April.
