Warm, dry start to the week, rain returns later
Kiowa and Cheyenne counties start the week with drier conditions and some of the warmest temperatures so far this year.
High temperatures Monday are expected to reach the low 90s, and hover around 90 Tuesday. Rain and thunderstorms continue a pause which started Sunday, providing a brief reprieve from recent flooding across southeast Colorado.
Temperatures in the upper 80s are expected Wednesday, with the potential return of afternoon thunderstorms. Storms become likely overnight Wednesday.
Thursday, temperatures in the mid-70s are expected, along with increased chances for thunderstorms throughout the day, continuing through the night.
Look for a slight rebound in temperatures Friday with a return to the low 80s. A slight chance for thunderstorms is predicted Friday afternoon ahead of a generally dry weekend.
