- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: After many months of preparation, the County Committee was advised the plans for a new USDA Service Center have been approved.
- The Eads High School boys track and Eads Middle School girls track won the High Plains League Meet held in McClave.
- The Eads Knowledge Bowl team are the 1A State Champions. Just one point behind were the Plainview Hawks.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: We had about 1.3” of rain the past couple of days. How sweet it is!

- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: With wheat maturity a little ahead of normal, producers are wondering how much affect there will be after significant freezing temperature for three nights.
- Several Eads students have been competing in high school rodeos this spring.
- Eads Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual carnival Friday and Saturday.
40 Years Ago - April 27, 1984
- Craig Scott of Towner was 1 of 5 from Colorado who attended the National 4-H Conference in Washington D.C. Over 250 4-H youths attended.
50 Years Ago - April 26, 1974
- Recently a lot of interest has been generated in the Kiowa County Historical Society in the preservation of the old schoolhouse-elevator by the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
75 Years Ago - April, 1949
- Ralph South, former resident of Eads, stopped here with a building 37.5 feet wide and 84 feet long weighting over 60 tons. It is a government chapel brought at La Junta Air Base by the Methodist Church at Hartman.
100 Years Ago - April, 1924
- The DCD Highway south of Eads has been covered with water for the last few weeks, owing to the lakes filled to a depth greater than for many years past.
