CBI and La Junta Police probe fatal shooting that left one dead, two injured

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting the La Junta Police Department with a fatal shooting that left one man dead and two others injured Thursday afternoon in La Junta.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:04 p.m. Thursday when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of Bradish Avenue. Authorities said they found one male victim with life-threatening injuries; he later died from gunshot wounds at a local hospital. Two additional victims were transported for treatment, though their conditions remain undisclosed.

Police have not released the identities of any individuals involved or detailed the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
