  • Kiowa County Economic Development Foundation opens an office in Eads and has hired Janet Frederick as Director.
  • Eads advances to Region Basketball Tournament after a double over-time win over Cheraw in District 2 tournament play.

  • Eads Junior High Girls Basketball finished their season undefeated with a 12-0 record.

  • Narvey Larrew of Eads elected as second vice president of the Bent/Prowers Cattle & Hose Association.
    • Wayne Barr of Chivington has been appointed Agricultural Representative for the First National Bank.
    • The Range Ledger of Cheyenne Wells, the Eastern Colorado Plainsman of Hugo, and The Holly Chieftain of Holly won awards at the Colorado Press Convention
