- Wayne Barr of Chivington has been appointed Agricultural Representative for the First National Bank.
- The Range Ledger of Cheyenne Wells, the Eastern Colorado Plainsman of Hugo, and The Holly Chieftain of Holly won awards at the Colorado Press Convention
