The Bustang to Estes bus service will resume operation May 24, offering a convenient and affordable transportation option to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). Service will continue through September 28, with two roundtrips offered Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Additional weekday service is planned for Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), and Labor Day (September 1).

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), the service aims to provide a reliable travel alternative while easing congestion on roadways leading to Estes Park and RMNP.

“Bustang to Estes provides travelers a reliable and comfortable option to one of the state’s busiest recreational and tourist areas,” said Paul DesRocher, director of CDOT’s Division of Transit and Rail. “The service also helps take vehicles off the road, eases congestion and parking demands, and makes our roads safer on weekends and holidays.”

Each coach is equipped with restrooms, bike racks, Wi-Fi, power outlets, USB ports, and under-coach storage for gear – making it ideal for cyclists, families, and hikers. Passengers disembarking in Estes Park can connect to the town’s free trolley system. To access Rocky Mountain National Park, passengers will be dropped off at the Park & Ride Transit Hub on Bear Lake Road via Bustang.

The Town of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park have both expressed support for the service.

“I encourage everyone to take advantage of Bustang service this summer,” said Town of Estes Park Mayor Gary Hall. “Skip the hassle of driving and enjoy the scenic journey to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park."
