Colorado Parks and Wildlife invites the public to Adventure Day on Saturday, August 1, at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs, a free annual event introducing visitors of all ages to outdoor skills and recreation.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and features hands-on activities including archery, rock wall climbing, hatchet throwing, wildlife education, and a BB gun marksmanship range. Prize raffles will also be held throughout the day.

A special guest appearance is planned from "Goldie the Goat," a Colorado Springs goat seen in recent online video escorting Colorado Springs firefighters battling the Aspen Acres fire.

"Adventure Day is a chance for families to get outside, try something new and experience what makes Cheyenne Mountain State Park such a special place," said Park Manager Jason Hagan. "All activities are introduced by highly-experienced staff, volunteers and our formal park friends group to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests."

Admission is free with a valid Colorado State Parks pass, available at the park, online, and from regional offices.
