Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking public comment on 13 proposed big game regulation changes in Northwest Colorado, with a survey open through October 15, 2026.

The public can review the proposals and submit feedback through the Northwest Region Big Game Proposals Survey at engagecpw.org/northwest-region-big-game-proposals.

"Public feedback plays an important role when we look at updating or creating new regulations," said Northwest Region Senior Terrestrial Biologist Brad Banulis. "Hunter's feedback from these surveys will help us finalize the proposed changes and determine what will be presented to the Parks and Wildlife Commission during the November meeting."

Potential changes under consideration include whether the boundary of bighorn sheep GMU S44 should be extended northward to include areas used by the S44 herd on the north side of Red Table Mountain; whether List A antlerless elk licenses should be changed to List B and OTC antlerless archery restored in E-2 (Bear's Ears herd) and E-6 (White River herd); and whether E14 (Grand Mesa herd) muzzleloader hunt codes should be standardized with E14 archery hunt codes.

Proposals selected to move forward will be presented to the Parks and Wildlife Commission as an informational item in November. Final regulations will be reviewed for adoption at the January commission meeting. If approved, changes will take effect for the 2027 hunting season.
