Colorado State Patrol seeks witnesses after injured pedestrian found on Highway 94

The Colorado State Patrol is asking for witnesses after a trooper found a man with serious injuries walking on Highway 94 in El Paso County on October 9, 2026.

At about 8:30 p.m., a trooper was patrolling westbound Highway 94 between mileposts 8 and 9. The area is just north of Schriever Space Force Base. The trooper saw an adult male walking in the roadway with obvious serious bodily injuries.

The trooper saw no vehicle or other way of travel near the man. The trooper stopped and made contact with him.

The man was taken to a local medical facility for his serious bodily injuries.

The State Patrol wants to hear from anyone who was traveling in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Investigators are looking for people who may have seen the man walking or any incident involving him.
