Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - October 10, 2023
The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Monday October 10, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox took roll call:
- Mayor – Joe D. Shields- Present
- Trustees – Present –Dennis Pearson, Stephanie Sewell, Tuck Liebl and Justin McLoud, Fred Derby
- Absent – Kathy McCracken
- Town Clerk- Robin Fox
- Assistant Clerk- Mikahael McCracken
- Director of Public Works-Van Brown- Trent Rittgers
- Town Attorney – Lance Clark – Absent
Minutes- Justin McLoud moved to approve the minutes as presented. Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Stephanie Sewell moved to approve payment of the bills. Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.
New Business- 2nd reading for camping Ordinance 414.Justin McLoud made the motion to approve the Ordinance Tuck Liebl seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Ronny Farmer was live via zoom. He gave his presentation on the audit.
Betsy Barnett asked the board to think about buying the Bennett house that is attached to the building the town already owns. She thought maybe $26,000 is what they would be asking. She would like them to consider the purchase.
Budget for 2024 was presented. They will need to work on the actual numbers and have it done before December meeting.
Mayor Shields suggested giving the library the building, they want to move into, and this was just a suggestion thinking it would help them if they owned it for grants and other purposes. Betsy didn’t think this would be a good idea and wants the board to table this. She will be coming back with the other people on other boards to discuss this. The town does own the theater and the other building where the library will be moving into.
Trent Rittgers- presented a quote on a pickup with a snow plow on it; this is already in the budget. The board would like to table this. Trent did tell them this offer may only be good for a month.
