Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - September 12, 2023

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Monday September 12, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox took roll call:

  • Mayor – Joe D. Shields- Present
  • Trustees – Present –Dennis Pearson, Stephanie Sewell, Kathy McCracken, Tuck Liebl and Justin McLoud, Fred Derby
  • Absent – none
  • Town Clerk- Robin Fox 
  • Assistant Clerk- Mikahael McCracken
  • Director of Public Works-Van Brown-Absent
  • Town Attorney – Lance Clark – Absent

Minutes­- Stephanie Sewell moved to approve the minutes as presented. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Justin McLoud moved to approve payment of the bills. Fred Derby seconded, motion passed unanimously.

New Business- Doug Uhland came to ask the board about his mom’s property to see if they would allow the cul-de-sac. He also was asking if the town would consider an ordinance against storage units as they are not very nice to look at. 

The board discussed double minimum charge for houses on one meter, and that if someone is living in an RV that is considered a dwelling and will be charged as a house. They said they have to stay the same for everyone. The water, sewer and trash ordinance is set every year in January and it’s been this way for years.

Chris Keplar came with his three daughters and Raina Lucero with her daughter. The four girls did a bake sale at the bash and raised money for the swimming pool. They presented a $320.00 check to the Town to go towards the new swimming pool.  The board was very appreciative of their kind gesture.

Executive Session had been scheduled regarding employees. Van asked for this as he wanted to talk to the board about personal issues. Meeting went into Executive session at 6:00 

Executive session ended at 6:29.

Adjournment- Meeting was adjourned 6:30 P.M.
