ALERT!!! The Palisade peaches the Plainview senior class sold will arrive Friday, August 30, in Eads around 1:45-2:00 p.m. at the roadside park; at Plainview School around 3:00 p.m. and in Tribune, Kansas, around 5:30 p.m. on the north side of Dixon. You may pick up your peaches wherever is the closest to you. These will only be the three stops. The senior class would like to thank everyone who supported them.

Connie Weber was down for a few days this past week to help her mom, Theresa, do some canning.

Evan and Jen Hopkins and children were in Wichita last week for doctor appointments.

Sunday, Evan and Jen Hopkins, Christi Hopkins, and Kenton and Brecken Mangan and parents spent a day in Sharon Springs, Kansas, at Kenton and Brecken's grandparents farm.

Chris and Kami Janes and family and Kirbi Stum's three oldest children spent Saturday with Monte and Linda Stum. Chris Janes was in Cheyenne Wells Saturday for the grand opening of the new drugstore there. Chris works in the pharmacy in Ordway for the company that bought the Cheyenne Wells drugstore.

Dick, Kyle and I went to Denver Friday. Our grandson, Parker Scott, flew in and we took his car to him. He had stored it at our place over the summer. He is returning to Fort Collins to attend college for the second year. We want to congratulate our daughter-in-law, Laurie Scott, on her new job at the college in San Antonio, Texas. She will start in September, and Craig will finish this year at Rutgers University and will then start his new job at San Antonio next summer. We are glad to have them moving back closer to us. We can drive to San Antonio whereas driving to New Jersey was out for Dick and me.

We wish all students the very best for the upcoming school year. Plainview will host "Back to School Night" Thursday, August 29. There will be a spaghetti dinner starting at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Plainview Library Grand Opening and Dedication and other activities. Plan to come out and meet the new teachers, staff and students and learn about what is planned for the upcoming year.

Have a great week - I hear it will be cooler this coming week - fine by me!
