I would like to congratulate the Plainview Knowledge Bowl team on winning a trip to the State competition in March.  These students and their coach, Miss Fees, work hard all season to do their best.  Good Luck at State!!

Saturday before last, Bob Troutman, former Sheridan Lake resident, celebrated his 90th birthday in Lamar, where he and Margaret now live. People from our area attending the celebration were:  Vern and JoAnn Harris; Denis Weber; Merle and Carol Shalberg; Larry and Judy Tuttle; Cora Coffman; Liz Rehfeld and Eugene Splitter.  Happy belated 90th Bob and wishes for many more.

Last week Larry Gitchel, former pastor of the Sheridan Lake Bible Church, underwent bypass surgery.  He is out of ICU and is improving daily.  Here is his address:  Larry Gitchel - Northern CO Medical Center

Howard Votruba is in the hospital but hopes to return home this Tuesday.  Hope you're feeling better Howard.

Jay and Tara Stum and children and Jay's parents, Linly and Sherell Stum enjoyed a 10-day vacation in Hawaii recently.  They had a great time and saw lots of beautiful country.

Merle, Carol and Greg Shalberg enjoyed going to Lakin, Kansas, last week to watch their grandson/ nephew, Dawsen Shalberg, play basketball.

Chris and Kami Janes daughter, Jacilette, underwent surgery last week.  Grandma Linda and Grandpa Monte Stum kept the three other girls while their folks were gone.  Noe Janes celebrated her 7th birthday last weekend.  Happy belated birthday Noe!

A week ago Friday, Susan Greenfield and Tina Kraft went to Lamar for lunch and some shopping.  Saturday, Susan and Jeanie Smith went to Holly to watch the Eads Eagles play basketball.

Sunday before last, Cheri Hopkins hosted a birthday celebration for her grandson Lincoln's 4th birthday.  Special guests were his family and his Aunt Christy.

Last Saturday, Evan and Jen Hopkins and Julia went to Sublette, Kansas, to watch their son/brother, Layton, and his 3rd grade team play basketball.  They won all three games.  Way to Go!!

Last Friday, I went to Cheyenne Wells to visit Cora Coffman. She is busy keeping up with her great grandson Weslee and his basketball games.

Friday evening, Kelvin, Amy and Alex Schmidt and Kyle Scott attended the basketball games and homecoming activities in Tribune, KS. Abby Berggren, daughter of Bryan and Dorcas Berggren of Towner, was crowned Homecoming Queen.  Congratulations Abby!

Several people from our area traveled to Holly Saturday afternoon to watch Plainview play basketball.  This wrapped up their season.  Now we are moving on to the baseball and track season.  Hope the weather warms up a bit!
