Can't believe we are in the middle of June already.  The kids will be back in school in 2 months and it seems like summer vacation just started.  It is a busy time with kids playing baseball, summer basketball and helping out on the farm.

Susan Greenfield reported that the "Book Fair" winners were Amanda Koeller with a Hawks Nest certificate for $20; Lori Healy $10 and Carrol Allen for $5. She would like to thank everyone who supported the library.  Susan also sent in $175 worth of box tops, so please keep saving those box tops.

Weekend before last, Cheri Hopkins traveled to Greeley and Loveland to visit Larry and Patty Schlabaugh and Jesse and Becky Quinby.

Last Friday, Linda Stum, Brenda Fickenscher, Cheri Hopkins and Marcie Harkness went to Scott City to celebrate Marcie's birthday. Happy Birthday Marcie!

Kelvin, Amy and Alex Schmidt went to the mountains this past weekend for some relaxation and dirt bike riding.

Last week, Larry and Judy Tuttle went to visit their daughter Rhonda and family for a couple of days.  Sunday, dinner guests of Larry and Judy were Dorothy Barrow of McPherson, Kansas, and Mildred Waldren of Tribune, Kansas. Dorothy lived in Towner many years ago and the ladies are sisters.

Guests of Linly and Sherell Stum last weekend were cousins from Wichita, Kansas.  Monte and Linda Stum; Misty Harkness and children; Lane and Tammy Stum; and Savannah, Cauy and Katlyn Stum joined them Sunday for dinner and visiting.

Carol Shalberg traveled to Walsh Saturday and she and her brothers and families went to Guymon, Oklahoma, to attend her great-nephews wedding.  Tuesday, her brother Rick Sharp; brother Bill and wife Jerri Sharp and niece Judy Wolly came to Merle and Carol's home for lunch.  Lori Shalberg joined them for the day.

Weekend before last, Burl and Cathy Scherler went to watch their grandson Brady Scherler play baseball in a tournament.

Denis and Theresa Weber went to Denver this past weekend for a family get together.  Jerry Weber continues to improve and is staying at his sister Linda's home.

Gary Tuttle had back surgery at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs last Friday.  We hope you're feeling better soon Gary.

Larry and Judy Tuttle attended the 90th birthday party for Jimmy Bendorf at his home in Eads Saturday.  Happy Birthday Jim!!

Dick, Kyle and I went fishing at Nee Noshoe Saturday.  We caught several nice fish and it was so nice to be out on the lake again.  Our pontoon hadn't seen water since 2003 when the lakes started drying up.

In case you didn't know, Plainview school is getting a new boiler system and other improvements this summer.  The school is closed but the office is still open and answering calls.

Have a great week!
