Elbert County deputies were dispatched shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday to a reported drunk driver who was southbound on Elbert County Road 21.

Based on registration information, deputies were led to an address on Dove Creek Drive in Elizabeth where they contacted the alleged driver, James Littrell, 59.

Littrell disobeyed verbal orders and pointed a handgun at deputies before running into a home.

Elbert and Douglas County officers were able to establish a perimeter around the home and requested the Elbert County S.W.A.T team.

S.W.A.T. members repeatedly ordered Littrell to leave the home. Entry was made after he refused. Littrell was taken into custody after 4:00 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
