Kiowa County has gained two truck stops over the past few weeks, both located at the northwest corner of Eads along Highway 287.

The first to open, Home Town Gas & Grill, is a project undertaken by Eads Consumers Supply Company, and replaces the significantly smaller Country C-Store at the southeast end of Eads.

Home Town Gas & Grill features a spacious retail area with snacks and beverages as well as an equally spacious dining area.

Fueling stations for the traveling public as well as semi tractor-trailers and other oversized diesel vehicles are easily accessed from north- and southbound Highway 287.

Oklahoma-based Love’s Travel Stops has opened its newest location just north of Home Town Gas & Grill. The new Eads location marks the company’s eighth location along Highway 287 between Eads and Rhome, Texas, and one of nearly 400 locations across 40 states.

The new site features 50 parking spaces, fueling stations for trucks and passenger vehicles, driver services, and a Subway sandwich shop.
