BOARD MEETING

December 12, 2023

The Kiowa County Hospital District Board met in special session on December 12, 2023, at 5:32 pm at the Hospital Meeting Room.

District Board members present were:  Mary Eikner, Doug Uhland, Karl Eikenberg, Matt Prince, and Pam Cole.  

Others present:  Beth Bell, Shannon Dixon, Jodi Stolzenberger and Renay Crain.

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Matt Prince, Chairman of the Board at 5:32 pm. 

BUDGET HEARING 2024

The Budget and Resolutions were reviewed.  Discussion was held regarding increasing the mill levy.  A motion was made by Pam Cole to approve the 2024 budget, Resolution to Adopt Budget, Resolution to Set Mill Levies, and Resolution to Appropriate Sums of Money and Certification of Tax Levies.  Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion.  All aye.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

A motion was made by Doug Uhland to go into executive session for contract negotiations pursuant and as permitted by CRS 24-6-402(4)(e).  Mary Eikner seconded the motion.  All aye.

Executive session convened at 5:43 pm and was returned to regular session at 5:56 pm.

A motion was made by Pam Cole to offer Beth Bell three options, whichever is best for her, to pay her student loans.  Doug Uhland seconded the motion.  All aye.

Option 1 – Pay all in December

Option 2 – Pay half in December and pay half in January

Option 3 – Pay all in January

ADJOURNMENT

Mary Eikner made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion.  All aye.  The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
