Kiowa County Public Library summer reading program starts Tuesday
Kiowa County Public Library District is excited to invite your children, ages 3-12, to join us for some fun at this year’s Summer Reading Program. The theme, “A Universe of Stories,” explores many topics from galaxy slime to bottle rockets and much more. We will explore all things space, and as always it’s FREE to join the fun! The library cares about your children and has planned programs to keep them reading and learning all summer. Attending the program helps keep your children’s minds active, and helps them prepare to enter school in the fall ready to learn and succeed!
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the Kiowa County Extension Office this year, as well as 4-H members Case and Aspen Nelson. They will be doing a Model Rocketry demonstration at Summer Reading! KCPLD is also excited to add over 250 new children and young adult books to our collection, thanks to a grant. Many of the books are even space related! Other activities we will explore include story time, group games, space-related crafts, art projects, splish-n-splash water games, as well as science and engineering experiments.
The fun will continue with several book giveaways and a perfect attendance grand prize. We will giveaway many other treats thanks to our wonderful sponsors Crow-Luther Cultural Events Center, Crow’s Stop and Shop, Kiowa Healthmart, Town of Eads, and anonymous donations from generous individuals in the community. (Thank you all!)
The Summer Reading blast off times are July 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 from 1:00-2:30 PM. Register Now with our friendly staff at KCPLD, or visit our website at http://eads.colibraries.org to complete the NEW online form.
