RESOLUTION NO. 2023-4

THE KIOWA COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ADOPTING KIOWA COUNTY ROAD STANDARDS

WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. § 30-11-101, the Kiowa County Board of County Commissioners (Board) is empowered to adopt and enforce "resolutions regarding health, safety, and welfare issues as otherwise prescribed by law" within Kiowa County; and 

WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. § 30-1 l-107(h) and C.R.S. §§ 43-2-110-114, the Board is authorized to administer the county road system; and 

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is necessary to adopt unform Road Standards to guide the construction and maintenance of all roads within Kiowa County, and 

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the generally accepted practices relating to Standards for Roads and Bridges has evolved overtime along with the needs of the citizens of Kiowa County that adoption of Road Standards at this time is appropriate; and 

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that these County Road Standards will better meet the needs of the citizens of Kiowa County. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Kiowa, State of Colorado as follows:

1. The Kiowa County Road Standards as attached hereto, are hereby ADOPTED AND EFFECTIVE immediately.

2. Any previous Resolution or Ordinance adopted in Kiowa County in conflict with these County Road Standard, are hereby revoked and rescinded, and of no further force and effect with the adoption of this Resolution and attached Standards and Specifications.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF KIOWA, STATE OF COLORADO THAT THE ATTACHED KIOWA COUNTY ROAD STANDARDS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED THIS 25 DAY OF MAY, 2023 .
