Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office June 2017 Arrests
Tuesday, May 9, 2017, Kiowa County Deputies received a report of a cold burglary in the 800 block of Hickman Street, Eads, Colorado. Kiowa County Deputies investigated the incident and issued five felony arrest warrants for burglary (C.R.S. 18-4-203(1) and theft (C.R.S. 18-4-401(1), (2) (D)). The warrants consist of three juveniles and two adult males. The two adult males were Joseph Burk of Eads, Colorado and Cedar Wilde of Lamar, Colorado. |

Saturday, June 3, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding 76 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone on Highway 287 North of Eads. Deputies issued the driver, Lombardo, Johnathon, a summons in violation of C.R.S. 42-4-1101(1) Speeding 76 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone, and displayed fictitious tab in violation of C.R.S. 42-3-121(b). | No photo available. |
Saturday, June 3, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding, 107 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone, on Highway 287, South of Eads. Deputies took the driver, Michael Hoffmann, into custody, for violations of Colorado Revised Statutes: 42-4-1101(1) Speeding 107 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone and CRS 42-4-1401 Reckless Driving. Hoffmann’s bond was set at $750. |

Wednesday, June 07, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding, 76 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone, on Highway 287, North of Eads. Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver, John Havlichek, had a warrant for Domestic Violence. Havlichek was taken into custody for the warrant, violations of CRS 42-4-1101 Speeding 76mph in a 65 mph zone and CRS 42-4-1301 Drove vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Havlichek was held on a bond of $3,500. |

Thursday, June 15, 2017, Kiowa County Deputies received a report of a cold burglary at the Eads High School located at 210 West 10th Street, Eads, Colorado. Deputies investigated the scene and discovered the suspect was involved in a burglary that occurred on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the 800 block of Hickman Street. The juvenile was taken into custody on a previous felony arrest warrant. A second felony arrest warrant was issued for the juvenile for burglary (C.R.S. 18-4-203(1)) of Eads High School, possession of burglary tools (C.R.S 18-4-205(1)) and criminal mischief (C.R.S. 18-4-501(1); (4)(d)) Investigation is ongoing and future arrests may occur. | No photo available. |
Saturday, June 26, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding 90 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone in Highway 287 North of Eads. The Deputies also discovered several seatbelt violations. Deputies issued Sultan, Salam Alsultan a summons in violation of C.R.S 42-3-1101(1) Speeding 90 Miles Per Hour in a 65 Miles Per Hour Zone, Failed to provide/properly use an approved child restraint system (4-7) In violation of C.R.S 42-3-236(2)(a)(I), Failed to provide/properly use an approved child restraint system (4-7) In violation of C.R.S 42-3-236(2)(a)(I), and Failed to provide/properly use seat belt/child restraint 8-15 years old of age in violation of C.R.S 42-4-236(2)(b). Deputies Contacted the Kiowa County Department of Social Services who were able to provide proper child restraint systems for the children in the vehicle. Friday, June 30, 2017, Deputies contacted a vehicle for speeding 96 miles per hour, in a posted 65 miles per hour zone, on Highway 287, North of Eads.
