Lamar Community College Eyes Upcoming Fall Semester

Summer is slowing down and coming to a close, which means that in just a few short weeks Lamar Community College will begin its fall semester.  Registration is well underway and most courses will begin the week of August 22.

Current LCC students should set up a meeting with their advisor to plan their next semester and make sure they are on track.  Any new students interested in registering for classes are encouraged to call 719-336-1590 to set up a meeting with an admissions counselor.

In preparation for the fall semester, all new LCC students are required to attend New Student Orientation.  The last opportunity for new students to attend Orientation will be Friday, August 19.  The college highly recommends that students attend all Orientation activities including academic advising, workshops, student activities, and fitness center orientations.  Parents and family members are welcome to attend orientation to better understand their roles.  Students may register for orientation at www.lamarcc.edu.

The week before classes start will certainly be a busy one at the LCC campus.  The Todd-Burch Residence Hall will open on Thursday, August 18, followed by Orientation on August 19. LCC’s Student Services Center, Campus Bookstore, and Learning Support Services will hold extended hours on Saturday, August 20 from 9am-12pm for registration, advising, purchasing course materials, and testing.  Later that afternoon LCC students and community members are all invited to the Pocket Park in downtown Lamar for free food, games, music, and entertainment at the Community Back-to-School Block Party from 4-6pm.

There is still time to apply for admission, register for courses, and request financial aid before classes begin.  Contact Student Services as soon as possible to start the admission process by calling 719.336.1590 or by visiting LCC’s Student Service Center (Betz Technology Center).  For a full schedule of fall courses or to begin the admission process online, visit www.lamarcc.edu.
