Mike Bowen, with The Lost Sand Creek, will be presenting during Kit Carson Day at the Kit Carson Community Building August 31 at 2:15 p.m. or after the Parade, on his book, “We Found the Lost Sand Creek Site,” and the discovery of the true site of the 1864 Sand Creek event. The Kit Carson Community Building is located at 301 Main St. in Kit Carson.

Mike co-authored “We Found the Lost Sand Creek Site” with his father, Chuck Bowen.

Chuck and Sheri Bowen discovered the Lost Sand Creek Site on the Bowen family ranch in the late 1990s. They found over 4,000 village and battle artifacts. This incredible archaeological discovery not only shows the real 1864 Sand Creek location, it reveals the truth about that event. This discovery has been suppressed.

Come learn how this amazing Sand Creek site discovery brings clarity to the 1864 event and why it matters 160 years later. There is a lot of information about Sand Creek in their book that had not been previously made available to the public. There is also a lot of information about the Sand Creek event that isn’t verified. The artifacts do not lie, and their story clears up what happened and where it happened.
