Man Dies at Eldora Mountain Ski Resort
23-year-old man died in skiing accident
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Boulder County agencies responded to the Eldora Mountain Resort for a report of an injured skier, who was unconscious and not breathing.
Members with the Eldora Mountain Resort Ski Patrol had received a report of an injured skier on the Mule Shoe run, which is a black diamond run, who crashed and then hit a tree. Once on scene, the Ski Patrol found a 23-year-old male unconscious and not breathing. CPR was immediately started.
An ambulance was called, and paramedics continued CPR in an attempt to revive the man. Despite their efforts, the man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead by the paramedic on scene and on the advice of an on-duty ER doctor.
The man was wearing a helmet at the time of this incident.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s offices are jointly investing the death.
