Air Quality Enterprise Board

The Air Quality Enterprise Board collects fees from stationary sources to support a variety of services that inform fee payer operations and to facilitate dialogue between fee payers and the community. The enterprise, through  the  department and contractors, funds science-based, unbiased air quality modeling, monitoring, assessment, data analysis, and research, and provides emission mitigation services when sought by fee payers.

Board of Directors of Veterans Community Living Centers

The functions of the Board of Commissioners are to advise the Division of State and Veterans Nursing Homes, the state nursing home located in Trinidad, and the veterans nursing homes located in Florence, Rifle, Aurora, and Monte Vista, Colorado; provide continuity, predictability, and stability in the operation of the state and veterans nursing homes; and provide guidance to future administrators at the state and veterans nursing homes based on the collective institutional memory of the Board of Commissioners.

Cherry Creek Water Basin Authority

The Authority works to develop and implement plans for water quality controls for the reservoir and surrounding waters in order to achieve and maintain water quality standards.  The Authority shall submit a plan within two years to the Water Quality Control Commission to make Cherry Creek Reservoir meet state water quality standards.

  • William P. Ruzzo of Lakewood, Colorado, to serve as a member with a background in or professional training regarding water quality issues, reappointed.

Colorado Civil Rights Commission

The Colorado Civil Rights Commission investigates complaints and conducts hearings concerning alleged discrimination in employment, apprenticeship programs, on-the-job training, and vocational schools.  The commission also investigates the existence of discriminatory or unfair employment practices by a person, employment agency, labor organization, or vocational school.  It is also charged with the promotion of good will and cooperation among various racial, religious, and ethnic groups in the state.

for a term expiring March 13, 2024:

  • Mayuko Fieweger of Thornton, Colorado, to serve as a representative of statewide chamber of commerce, and as an Unaffiliated, occasioned by the resignation of Ajay Menon of Fort Collins, Colorado, appointed.

Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deafblind

The Commission shall serve as a liaison between the deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind community and the general assembly, Governor, and Colorado departments and agencies.  The Commission shall also assess the needs of the deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind community and recommend to the general assembly any legislation that may facilitate and streamline the provision of general governmental services to the deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind community.

Colorado Commission On Higher Education

The Colorado Commission on Higher Education sets policies for all state-supported institutions of higher education.

Colorado Health Benefits Exchange Board Of Directors

The health benefit exchange is a nonprofit, unincorporated public entity known as the “Board of Directors” that shall govern the operation of the Exchange.  The Board shall determine and establish the development, governance and operation of the Exchange.  The Exchange shall foster a competitive marketplace for insurance and shall not solicit bids or engage in the active purchase of insurance.

Colorado Lottery Commission

Concurrent Enrollment Advisory Board

Fire Service Training And Certification Advisory Board

The purpose of the Board is to establish a fire service education and training program and to establish procedures and criteria for the certification of firefighters.

Interbasin Compact Committee

The IBCC is charged with the development of a negotiation framework and foundational principles to guide voluntary negotiations between basin roundtables, the facilitation of continuing discussions within and between basins on water management issues, and to encourage locally driven collaborative solutions to water supply challenges.

Judicial Nominating Commissions

There is a judicial district nominating commission for each of Colorado’s 22 judicial districts that select nominees for district and county judicial vacancies. Each district nominating commission is chaired by a justice of the Supreme Court, who is a non-voting member of the commission.

Third Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission

for a term expiring December 31, 2023:

  • Sarah Sloane of Trinidad, Colorado to serve as a non-attorney and as an Unaffiliated member from Las Animas County, occasioned by the resignation of Jill Wilson of Las Animas County, appointed.

Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission

for terms expiring December 31, 2028:

  • Jerome DeHerrera of Westminster, Colorado to serve as an attorney, a Democrat, and a member from the Eighth Congressional District, appointed.

Medical Services Board

The Medical Services Board adopts the rules and regulations that govern the operation of the Colorado Medicaid Program and Colorado Indigent Care Program.  The Regulations adopted by the board will direct the efforts of the State in defining eligibility and the benefits for these programs, the rights and obligations of clients receiving benefits, and the payment of vendors providing health care services.  The Board will also provide advice and consultation to the State Board of Human Services in connection with the administration of the Old Age Pension Health and Medical Fund.

for a term expiring July 1, 2026:

  • Laura Carroll of Delta, Colorado, to serve as a resident of the Third Congressional District, a Democrat, with knowledge of medical assistance programs, appointed.

Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors

The Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors promulgates rules and regulations pertaining to the operation and administration of the Colorado Pinnacol Assurance Fund.

Private Occupational School Board

The Private Occupational School Board advises on standards for educational services in private occupational schools.  The Board also grants accreditation to schools that meet the standards established by the Board.

Public Employees Retirement Benefit Plans (PERA)

The Public Employees’ Retirement Benefit Plans (PERA) manages and provides retirement and other benefits to the employees of more than 500 government agencies and public entities in the State of Colorado.

Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board

The Public School Capital Construction Assistance Board was established 

to protect the health and safety of students, teachers, and other persons using public school facilities and maximize student achievement by ensuring that the condition and capacity of public school facilities are sufficient to provide a safe and un-crowded environment that is conducive to students’ learning.

for a term expiring July 22, 2024:

State Board Of The Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund

The State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund uses a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the State’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers and open spaces. The Board awards competitive grants to local governments and land trusts, and makes investments through Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

State Board Of Licensure For Architects, Professional Engineers And Professional Land Surveyors

The Colorado Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors regulate the evaluation of whether applicants are minimally qualified for licensure, the examination of such applicants, licensing, license renewal, setting policy with regard to the practice of the profession, consideration of complaints against licensees and those who may have practiced without a license, and disciplining those who have not complied with the law.

State Board of Nursing

The State Board of Nursing examines and licenses registered and practical nurses.  It approves nursing programs and standards, and investigates complaints filed against nurses.

State Board of Social Work Examiners

The Board licenses social workers in Colorado and conducts hearings concerning complaints against licensed social workers.

State Board Of Veterinary Medicine

The State Board of Veterinary Medicine regulates and licenses veterinarians in the State of Colorado. The Board establishes and enforces professional standards through the development and maintenance of rules and policies, ensuring that only qualified persons are licensed to provide veterinary care, and that violators of the laws and rules regulating veterinary medicine are sanctioned as appropriate.

State Electrical Board

The Board examines and licenses electricians.  The board also adopts and revises rules and regulations concerning the installation, repair and alteration of wiring apparatus and equipment for electric light, heat and power.

State Housing Board

The Board works to establish uniform construction and maintenance standards for hotels, motels, multiple dwellings and factory-built housing.  The Board also develops for submission to the general assembly and units of local government recommendations for uniform housing standards and building codes.

State Plumbing Board

The State Plumbing Board grants licenses to plumbers, and amends and enforces rules and regulations for the examination and licensure of plumbers.

Substance Abuse Trend And Response Task Force

The Task Force examines the prevention, intervention, and treatment of the abuse of methamphetamine and treatment of the abuse of methamphetamine and to examine the production and distribution of methamphetamine, strengthening the laws concerning methamphetamine, and makes appropriations.

for terms expiring July 1, 2026:

Venture Capital Authority

The Authority makes funding available for Colorado businesses in the beginning and early stages of their development.

Wine Industry Development Board

The Board encourages and promotes viticultural and enological research and experimentation for the maximum production and quality of wine produced in the State of Colorado.  This includes the marketing of wines produced in Colorado and as an asset to the state’s tourism program.
