• Colorado Parks and Wildlife is asking for help solving a poaching crime in Lamar. Someone shot and killed a trophy-sized mule buck near Prowers Medical Center.
• USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Near 70 degrees followed by bitter cold in the single digits has shocked all of our systems this past week.

25 Years Ago - January 29, 1999

• Re-1 School Board members toured the Plains Theatre. The owner, George Crow is interested in donating the facility to the district.
• A county pickup in foreman Rick Spady’s district was switched to vegetable seed oil in December.

40 Years Ago - February 3, 1984

• Local jury finds a Greeley man guilty of three counts of theft from the elderly. One of the victims was an Eads resident the other two were from Kit Carson and Cheyenne Wells.

50 Years Ago - February 1, 1974

• The Democratic Party will have a “fun” meeting Feb 14 in Courthouse meeting room which will include refreshments and games.
