- The Kiowa County Sheriff office has received a grant in which they can hire an extra deputy for two years. The grant will so allow the purchase office equipment and computer upgrades along with pre-equipped vehicles at a reduce cost.
- The Classy Lassie Red Hatter ladies had a great time in Pueblo with lunch and a movie.
- The Eight Annual High Plains Goose Festival to be held February 25-28.

- Eads Lady Eagles basketball team advance to the district second round playoff and are schedule to face second place Cheraw Wolverines.
- East End Events- Christy Hopkins: Freda Schmidt and Bernice Tuttle attended Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE) meetings in Kansas City.
40 Years Ago - February 22, 1985
- Omnibankcorp has acquired certain assets of and assumed all the deposit of the First National Bank in Eads. The First National was forced to closed February 14 because of substantial deterioration in the quality of the bank’s loan portfolio.
- Wind erosion damaged more land in the Great Plains in the last two months of 1984 than during any comparable period since mid-1950.
50 Years Ago - February 21, 1975
- Al Seibel was the first Eads High School Wrestler to win a state tournament title.
- The Pharmacy Service Inc. received an operating license from the Colorado State Board and will be operating as Kiowa Drug, which open a week ago.
- The Eads Lyons construction of the tennis courts, to be constructed on school property, has temporary stalled due to the lack of a sponsor. The RE-1 school board decided not to be a sponsor.
