- An oil-gas test being drilled southwest of Elk City, Oklahoma, when completed will be 28,000 feet down, in what oilmen call the Anadarko Basin.
A billion-dollar water plan has been offered as the answer to Colorado's eastern slope water problems, which are predicated to become acute at the turn of the next century. The plan initiated by Central Colorado Water Conservancy District is based on use of Colorado water and imported water. It could supply 500,000 acre-feet of Gunnison River water to parched east slope cities ranging from Trinidad to Fort Morgan.
