Early on the morning of October 18, the Plainview Knowledge Bowl teams headed to Vilas for a knowledge bowl competition. The meet began like any other meet: a written round followed by three oral rounds.

Neither team did as well as they have on the written round: the A Team scored 15 points while the B Team scored 13. A lot of ground had to be made up by both teams. The B Team was consistent, scoring 6 points in all of the oral rounds. Fortunately for the Hawks, this paid off; and they finished first with a score of 31 points. Vilas B had 27 points and Springfield B had 25 points. The A Team scored 6 points in both the first and second oral rounds; they scored 12 points in the third oral round, moving them to third place with a score of 39 points. Walsh A finished first with a score of 49 points, and Fowler A finished second with a score of 45 points.

Plainview’s B team for this meet was comprised of Jocelyn Anderson, Alexis Schneider, and Alexa Enriquez Munoz. Plainview’s A team was comprised of Ky Harkness, Destiny Cornelius, Annah Harkness, and Hailey Cornelius. The Hawks are coached by Ruth Fees, Plainview English and Spanish teacher. Their next meet is the LCC Meet on November 1.

Congratulations to both teams for doing so well in their third meet of the season!
