Last week I was out and about, taking in nature’s grandeur, the rains have made a difference. Although the flora has cured, there is still a green tint over the landscape and all the ponds and reservoirs are full. The Republican River south of Flagler is running some, the Flagler Dam has filled up four times, there is a possibility that the downstream users in Nebraska and Kansas may not call for water. I have yet to figure out why out-of-state users have precedence over local users. I will have to check but I thought that water rights seniority was a state issue.

It is over fourteen months until the next presidential election and I am already being inundated by e-mails, text messages, phone calls and mailings from candidates and their supporters, both political parties since I have registered as an unaffiliated voter and political action committees wanting money and a pledge to support their agenda. Funny thing is the underlying essence of addressing personalities over issues. Somehow, there is a reference to the last president’s actions and nothing about the sitting president's actions. I do know that any candidate who has not pledged to the “woke” agenda will have an uphill battle with the DC cabal and insulated bureaucrats, the mainstream bobbleheads, the social media trolls and dark money supporting their opponent. Good readers prepare for an exciting and nauseating campaign season.

The form of government in the United States under the Constitution is a federal, representative and democratic republic, an indivisible union of sovereign states. Over the years, politicians at all levels have moved away from representing their constituents to an agenda of increasing power, longevity and wealth, whatever makes them feel good, not caring about the degradation of moral, ethics, religion and patriotism. Justice is a two-tier system and the rule of law is out the window. It is time to rename the form of government to kakistocracy - kleptocracy. Kakistocracy is a government run by the laziest, least qualified and/or most unscrupulous politicians. Kakistocracy repels the talented politicians dedicated to serving their constituents. Kleptocracy is collective, systematic, strategic and permanent system in which all high - level government officials are complicit, where they work to enrich themselves, then use the wealth to perpetuate longevity of power. The common good of the country and people's needs are secondary, only looked at to maintain their agenda.
