Thoughts, Things, and Trivia by Jack – April 25, 2024
So far this year, snowfall is skimpy, it is dry, battering the old saying “April showers bring May flowers”.
It was card party time at the Wild Horse School; 13 adults, three children and one dog.
As usual; plenty of tasty snacks, wild card playing and camaraderie. A candidate running for Cheyenne County commissioner spent time with the players. First place winners were Pat Bledsoe – ladies and William Bledsoe – men. Consolation went to Rosemary Lengel – ladies and Jim Lengel – men. Floating “Jokers” was taken by Sarah Bledsoe – ladies and Chris Bledsoe – men. May party is ending.
Dear good readers, it has been an interesting journey in life since October of last year. My physical and mental condition went downhill, attacking my desire and cognitive ability to compose a column, I was in the hospital for six weeks.
The three ambulance rides to Keefe Memorial Hospital ER in Cheyenne Wells and the ambulance ride (up and back) to Sky Ridge Hospital in Lone Tree were not luxury trips.
Usually, I did not give credibility to “Close Encounters”, but some events since New Years Day have changed my thinking. I may have been hallucinating: On the last ride to the ER in Cheyenne Wells, a brilliant (not blinding) white orb entered the ambulance and stayed with me until I was pushed into ER and then reappeared during the trip to Sky Ridge and stayed with me until the anesthesia prepared me for the operation, no one else noticed the orb. Good readers, was it a Higher Power watching over me?
I am at home recovering; it may take a year to regain stability.
