Town of Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - November 10, 2020

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 4:54 p.m. in the Town Hall. Town Clerk, Robin Fox, took roll call:

  • Mayor – Joe D. Shields- Present
  • Trustees – Present – Dennis Pearson, Justin McLoud, Kathy McCracken, Karl Eikenberg, Terry Riley and Meghan Buck (Phone)
  • Absent –  
  • Town Clerk- Robin Fox –Present
  • Assistant Clerk- Barbara Scranton-Present
  • Director of Public Works- Van Brown- Present
  • Guests Present –Matt Prince

Minutes­- Kathy McCracken motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Justin McLoud seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Terry Riley motioned to approve payment of the bills ($21,381.28 Water, $6,519.30 Utility, $49,128.63 General, $501.35 Conservation, $247.12 Airport: $77,777.68 Total). Meghan Buck seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Old Business:

Pool- Justin McLoud was contacted by the Kiowa County Independent of an interview based on the results of the ballot question. 

New Business: 

Bill Woelk – Mr. Woelk did not attend the meeting. However, he wants his alley fixed. Van Brown said he believes the problem has already been addressed but will check on it and make sure hole is repaired. If it still needs repaired he will make sure it gets done.

2021 Budget – The Budget hearing is set for Tuesday December 8, 2020.

Christmas Gifts - Town Clerk Robin Fox asked the Board if the Town will again be giving the employees Christmas Gifts in the form of Eads Bucks.  Justin McLoud motioned to give Eads Bucks as Christmas gifts to all the Town of Eads employees. Terry Riley seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Bring Up Items 

Liquor License – A special event liquor license was requested. Justin McLoud motioned to approve the special license. Dennis Pearson seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Merry on Maine – Mat Prince let the Board know what is planned for the event. He asked if the office staff would take on registrations for the parade of lights. The Board approved.

Adjournment- Meghan Buck motioned to adjourn the meeting. Justin McLoud seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 5:30pm.
