USDA reappoints of Sallie Clark as Rural Development State Director for Colorado
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced this week the reappointment of Sallie Clark to serve as the USDA Rural Development State Director for Colorado. The appointment, made by President Donald Trump, marks her return to a role she previously held during his first term.
Clark, who most recently served as Senior Advisor for Government & Military Engagement in Colorado Springs’ Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, expressed her commitment to supporting rural Coloradans. “It’s a privilege to once again serve as State Director in assisting Colorado’s rural residents to improve quality of life,” Clark said. Her prior role in Colorado Springs included oversight of public policy initiatives, military engagement efforts, and the Sister Cities International program.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins emphasized in a media release the importance of rural communities in advancing the nation’s prosperity. “When America’s farming communities prosper, the entire nation thrives,” Rollins stated. She noted that the newly appointed state directors will work to implement President Trump’s “America First” agenda through USDA Rural Development programs, prioritizing the needs of farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers.
As USDA Rural Development State Director, Clark will act as the agency’s chief executive officer in Colorado, leading teams responsible for delivering programs that address critical rural needs such as infrastructure, housing, and economic development. The position also involves advancing the priorities of the Trump administration, the Secretary of Agriculture, and the Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development while fostering operational excellence and accountability within the workforce.
