Loan Deficiency Payments

Reminders concerning LDP’s.  Bushels claimed for LDP cannot be placed under loan later and vice versa.  Producers who have a marketing assistance loan have difference options available for market gains and turn-around loans.

To claim an LDP payment for any commodity the producer must have beneficial interest (title and control) in the commodity, in addition to other eligibility requirements.  Page 1 of the form CCC-633EZ must be on file before losing beneficial interest in the commodity, page 2 of form CCC-633EZ is the form used to ‘request’ the LDP.

There is not currently an LDP in effect for corn or grain sorghum.  The loan rate for grain sorghum in Kiowa County is $3.39 cwt and the posted county price on Friday, September 16th was $4.19.  For an LDP rate to trigger the posted county price must be lower than the loan rate; Kiowa County is $.81 from having an effective LDP rate for grain sorghum.  Loan rate for corn in Kiowa County is $2.10 bushel and the posted county price on Friday was $3.07, therefore Kiowa County is $.98 from having an effective LDP rate.

LDP rates for the previous week.

The website to check daily LDP rates is as follows:

OCTOBER PAYMENT CYCLE

CRP payment and ARC-PLC payment will be issued in October.  The office will concentrate on CRP payments first and then ARC-CO, PLC and ARC-IC payments.  Producers who do not have their eligibility paperwork in place will not earn a payment until it is filed and approved.  If you have received paperwork to complete get it back to the office as soon as possible.
