EMERGENCY GRAZING OF ELIGIBLE CRP ACRES AUTHORIZED
Kiowa County and other counties in SE Colorado, namely Baca, Prowers, Cheyenne and Kit Carson have reached the D2 – severe drought intensity to authorize emergency grazing of CRP acres. October 1st is the beginning of a new fiscal year for CRP, therefore utilizing CRP for grazing this early in the fiscal year will limit the use again for another two years.
Producers interested in emergency grazing of CRP acres must notify their FSA county office before starting any activities. This includes producers accessing CRP acres held by someone else.
2023 ARC-CO PAYMENTS ISSUED
Producers who elected ARC-CO on farms administered in Kiowa County will have payments issued this week. Kiowa County triggered on non-irrigated wheat only, below is the state map for the rates. CRP ANNUAL RENTAL PAYMENTS
Fiscal year 2024 CRP annual rental payments will begin to be issued the week of October 14th. This is a busy time of the year for the office; therefore, we ask that you please wait to contact the office concerning your CRP payment.
