Kiowa County Commissioners meeting minutes - March 30, 2023

The Regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order on March 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Donald Oswald. Chairman Oswald opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Those in attendance:

  • Donald Oswald, Chairman 
  • Howard "Butch" Robertson, Commissioner
  • Mike Lening, Commissioner 
  • Delisa Weeks, County Clerk 
  • Tina Adamson, County Administrator

Robertson moved, and Oswald seconded the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

Obituary - Kenneth A. Burns

Kenneth Allond Burns was born July 26, 1930, at his grandmother's home (as was the custom) in Leoti, Kansas, to Jesse Allond and Roberta May (Hollister) Burns. 

Kenneth returned, with his parents, to his home in Colorado when he was three weeks old. He grew up near Eads and Westcliffe. 

Xcel Energy pursues clean energy hydrogen hub for Colorado  

Xcel Energy announced Monday its proposal to build a clean energy hydrogen hub on the eastern plains as it advances in bringing new, clean and reliable energy to the region. The company submitted a plan to the U.S Department of Energy to build a clean hydrogen energy hub in Colorado as part of the Western Interstate Hydrogen Hub, LLC (WISHH).
